      The Human Resources Consultant - Employee Relations serves and supports Classified, Unclassified and Faculty employees and management by providing tactical consultative advice and services regarding employee relations, policy development/interpretation, and administration of human resource policies and procedures, and processes unemployment and worker's compensation claims. The incumbent will support supervisors on performance development, discipline, investigations, and grievances. The Human Resources Consultant - Employee Relations strives to support LSUHSC-NO’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, including supporting education and responding to employees with ADAAA accommodations. The Human Resources Consultant is responsible for advising and guiding employees and supervisors in Employee Relations issues through analyzing individual situations and determining appropriate interventions; one-on-one counseling, coaching or development of individualized employee development tools, and providing follow-up to ensure performance accountability; interventions aimed at improving the effectiveness of work teams, and supervisory development. Position serves as an investigator and provides consultation in harassment and discrimination cases as well as managing the mediation for staff and supervisors and facilitating the classified staff grievance process. This role will assist with Fitness for Duty determinations with Campus Assistance Program.
