      Summary of Duties:

      The Human Resources Generalist I provides foundational support across HR operations, focusing on task-oriented responsibilities and maintaining compliance in routine processes.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Assigns, Tracks, and documents employee compliance with required training
      • Supports and tracks the onboarding process for new hires
      • Conducts pre-employment processes such as background checks and I-9 verifications.
      • Supports implementation of new hire orientation and employee recognition activities.
      • Performs routine HR administrative tasks
      • Answers standard HR inquiries from employees and escalates complex issues as needed.
      • Observes and supports disciplinary and termination meetings as a note-taker or coordinator.
      • Maintains accurate and compliant personnel records and HRIS data entry.
      • Keeps current with HR policies and required federal and state labor laws and postings.
      • Performs other duties as assigned by senior HR staff.

      Human Resources Generalist Qualifications/Skills:

      •1-3 years of successful experience in human resources

      •BA/BS desired

      •Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures

      •Knowledge of federal and state employment laws; experience with multi-state law desired.

      •Must have in-depth knowledge of all major categories of employment relationship, including employee relations, safety and work environment, training, recruitment, statistical analysis, workers compensation and benefits

      • Excellent communication and people skills

      •Ability to effectively analyze data and provide recommendations

      • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office

      Experience with the following is a plus:

      Willingness to learn American Sign Language and Deaf culture

      PHR or SPHR Certification preferred but not required.

      Work environment:

      Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

      • Sitting, standing and walking (95-100%)
      • Keyboarding (40-60%)
      • Viewing computer monitor, videophone, and cell phone requiring close vision (40-60%)
      • Lifting computers and other equipment.
      • Position may require some travel.
