      Company Overview

      GENERAL SUMMARY:

      Overseeing Driver Relations: Advocating for an uplifting employee environment within fleet operations and sustaining constructive relationships with staff members. Provides support to the Fleet Management team in enforcing company rules and regulations. Responds promptly to employee queries and challenges, ensuring thorough follow-ups. Assists in coordinating employee engagement initiatives and regular Retention visits.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Coordinates and conducts positive contact program for new hires. Promotes open door policy and an environment free of organized labor through effective positive employee relations. Plans, manages, and tracks employee recognition programs. Coordinate employee engagement activities, including employee events and all activities corresponding to the employee opinion survey results and action planning

      • Conducts investigations, prepares investigative reports, and makes recommendations to resolve employee issues based on policy, past practice, and legal justifcations. Assists supervisors to formulate disciplinary actions. Conducts exit interviews and make recommendations based on trends or notable comments for advising management for improvement

      • Ensures thorough understanding of company policies by conducting new employee orientations and follow-up sessions; assist fleet management team with follow up questions related to company policies and procedures.

      • Manage all administrative processes, including reporting related to FMLA maintenance and time management process. Staffing/turnover reporting to include tracking of offer letters, new hire process flow and scheduled orientation dates.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

      • Thorough knowledge of human resource principles and practices.
      • Effective oral and written communication skills.
      • Thorough knowledge of company policies.
      • Computer skills: Word, Excel, and payroll/personnel systems such as Lawson and time and attendance systems.


      Qualifications

      WORK EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION:

      • Knowledge and skills are normally acquired through post-secondary education at the bachelor’s level in areas such as human resources management and industrial psychology.
      • Two to five years of experience in progressively responsible positions; degree is not required with extensive experience

      WORKING CONDITIONS

      • Effective balance of floor (Dock and Yard Walks) time and office time is required.
      • 50% Travel expectation by air and/or car required for supporting other fleet locations and/or fleet start-up initiatives.
