      Position Summary

      The HR Generalist supports the Brooklyn Park plant by owning day-to-day HR processes that keep the operation running smoothly. Key focus areas include onboarding, HRIS data integrity, employee engagement events, metrics reporting, and recruiting coordination. This role partners closely with plant leadership and the HR Business Partner to maintain a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, approachable, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

      This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

      What You’ll Be Doing

      • Lead new-hire orientation and complete all onboarding paperwork
      • Maintain compliant personnel files (I-9s, training records, corrective actions)
      • Manage all employment-based immigration cases (visa sponsorships, PERM, green cards), partnering with external counsel and internal stakeholders to track milestones and ensure filings are completed on time
      • Answer routine HR questions on attendance, time off, and policies
      • Track attendance and prepare weekly data for bonus eligibility and trend reviews
      • Enter and maintain job, shift, and pay changes in UKG
      • Assist training coordinator on cross-training documentation and certification records
      • Manage exit processes: schedule and conduct exit interviews
      • Plan and coordinate employee-engagement events (potlucks, birthdays, anniversaries)
      • Administer the Banner Bucks recognition program and monitor theme
      • Keep HR communication boards current
      • Run weekly headcount, attrition, and turnover reports; flag trends to the HRBP and Plant Manager
      • Post internal hourly openings, screen résumés, schedule interviews, and coordinate pre-employment screening
      • Follow up on incomplete onboarding tasks before Day 1
      • Provide HR support to a remote manufacturing facility, including on-site visits approximately once every 4–6 weeks
      • Assist the HRBP with HR improvement projects and provide back-up support across both plants
      • Other duties as assigned

      Required / Must Have’s

      • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
      • Demonstrated Human Resources experience in a Generalist or related role
      • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and data accuracy
      • Approachable, customer-focused communication style

      Preferred / The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

      • Full cycle recruiting experience
      • Employee relations and performance management experience
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
      • Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information and exercise discretion
      • Employer Branding Experience; or a marketing mindset
      • Analytical skills with attention to detail and follow up
      • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
      • Dedicated team player
      • Ability to multi-task and be organized
      • Exceptional customer focus with strong professional acumen
      • Ability to build productive relationships with potential candidates, employees and management
      • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
      • Working knowledge of FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and EEO
      • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems, Ultimate Kronos Group (formerly Ultimate Software)
