      OVERVIEW

      Alera Group is looking for a HR Generalist. We are seeking highly motivated colleagues who bring experience and enthusiasm to our team – joining us may be the perfect fit for you!

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Support the Director of HR Consulting Services and HR Consultant with a wide range of HR functions, including handbook updates, audits, training, leave management, and employee relations.
      • Monitor HR and employment law changes (especially NYS/NYC), communicate updates to the team, and incorporate key changes into the monthly newsletter.
      • Create and distribute monthly client newsletters using Marketing Studio; develop client resources such as templates and checklists.
      • Coordinate event logistics for internal staff and external conferences or networking functions.
      • Manage HR outsourcing tasks, including client onboarding, leave/termination packets, COBRA administration, and platform enrollments (e.g., Compliance Dashboard, Mineral).
      • Oversee the HR Compliance Program and NYSAIS Consortium, ensuring timely delivery of webinars, alerts, and client outreach.
      • Collaborate with the team to identify service opportunities, support department growth, and maintain client engagement aligned with Collaborative Way principles.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of full-time HR generalist experience; OR 4 years of HR experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

      • Must be proficient in New York state HR regulations.
      • Experience with benefits administration is a plus.

      • PHR or SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred at hire; must be obtained within 1 year if not already certified.

      • Strong knowledge of HR practices and industry standards.

      • Solid analytical skills for evaluating data and making informed decisions.
