Job Description

- Serve as member of the local leadership team and as a local point of contact in the area of Health & Safety.
- Facilitate the plant daily safety meetings and document each discussion in the daily safety meeting minutes.
- Conduct plant safety orientations
- Frequently review plant and offshore facilities safety-related paperwork (JSEAs, LOTO, work permits, etc.) and verify paperwork accuracy in the field, and document these reviews.
- Keep all personnel updated about new internal and external safety standards and procedures, including highlighting changes made. Assist in review and preparation of new and existing safety procedures.
- Conduct investigations of incidents, including accidents, injuries, spills and near misses, determine root causes of each and prepare associated reports, to include corrective actions to mitigate future incidents.
- Be visible and available to provide HSE support to operations and promote HSE expectations and provide HSE input to operations management.
- Identify and mitigate workplace exposures, work hazards and coach and mentor field personnel.
- Properly maintain all safety equipment and ensure that all employees are properly trained to use the equipment that they need.
- Lead pipeline safety audits and compliance.
- Participate in HAZOP activities.
- Be the focal point for SDS management and HAZCOM.
- Maintain emergency plans, including hurricane response plan.
- Encourage employees to report unsafe working conditions and seek suggestions from employees for improvement of workplace conditions.
- Support and assist in the company’s drug and alcohol programs.
- Serve as HSE facilitator for all OTF and platform personnel and ensure that everyone completes their required training.
- Visit offshore platforms for inspections, etc.
- Manage waste storage and shipment
- Work with environmental technician to conduct environmental monitoring
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Associates degree or some college in a safety/environmental field is a plus.
- 5-7 years of experience with OSHA/PSC/AOGB/EPA/ADEM/BSEE safety and related programs in the oil and gas industry.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable.
- Good organization skills with the ability to multi-task with changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact in a positive manner with others.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and be driven to produce results at both an individual and team level.
- Computer input and data management skills are required.
- Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word), PDF and other basic computer skills.
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling and twisting as necessary.
- May be required to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, supplied air respirators, appropriate footwear, etc.) when visiting field sites.

JOB SUMMARY: The HSE Coordinator reports to the Safety Manager responsible for providing coordination in all health and safety measures in a field position supporting engineering, construction, regulatory, drilling and production teams.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment primarily with both plant and offshore platform walk through/visits. Routine work is performed at a workstation on a networked computer.
