Job Description

- Manage the reservation and scheduling process for all Vermejo hunts.
- Handle the sales for all commercial hunts offered at Vermejo.
- Partner with the TTR Marketing team to help manage the marketing for the Vermejo hunt program.
- Track and manage the invoice process for all Vermejo hunts.
- Respond to email and phone inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist with the hiring process for Vermejo Hunt Guides and the Game Barn Coordinator.
- Work with the Training and Education Supervisor to develop and implement the Hunt Guide-in-Training program.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and coverage during hunting season.
- Ensure that all Hunt Guides are properly licensed and trained in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
- Report to New Mexico Game & Fish and Natural Resources management on wildlife harvest levels throughout the hunting season.
- Oversee the operation of the Game Barn during hunt season.
- Manage the donation and charity hunts.
- Oversee the employee hunts.
- Ensure that biological samples are collected and handled appropriately by all Hunt Guides in accordance with the standards of the Vermejo Natural Resource Department.
- Coordinate and lead safety and welcome sessions for all Hunters and Hunt Guides.
- Actively participate in the Manager-on-Duty program at Vermejo.
- Coordinate and attend the hunting shows for marketing, including the DSC show in Dallas and SCI show in Nashville.
- Partner with Hospitality Management and the Activities Director to guide leisure activities during months that hunts are not scheduled.
- Work with the Company Biologists to maintain positive working relationships with New Mexico State Game and Fish and Parks and Wildlife divisions.
- Maintain and record all Hunt Department processes and establish written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

SUMMARY

Turner Enterprises is seeking a Hunt Administrator to oversee TRO’s hunting operations at Vermejo, a Ted Turner Reserve. This individual will be based at Vermejo and will work closely with Vermejo’s Assistant General Manager to ensure a successful hunting program while serving as a model of conservation management.

Vermejo, a Ted Turner Reserve, located in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado, spans over 550,000 acres, making it the largest Ted Turner Reserves (TTR) vacation property. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Vermejo is seeking a Hunts Administrator with strong administrative skills, a commitment to conservation, and interest to learn and grow in Hunt Operations. The position oversees the administrative details for the Hunting programs at Vermejo. This employee is committed to wildlife as a public trust resource, hunts that support sustainable wildlife populations, and adheres to science-based wildlife management.
As the Hunt Administrator, the job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
ACCOMMODATIONS
Position requires applicant to live on Vermejo headquarters approximately 40 miles from the closest town. Vermejo’s location is approximately 4.5 hours’ drive south of Denver or 4.5 hours’ drive north of Albuquerque.
Vermejo offers single- and double-bedroom dorm room style company housing (subject to availability).
Employee may be subject to sharing a room with one other employee depending on the availability of a single dorm room.
The nearest town, Raton, NM, is located approximately 1 hour from Vermejo headquarters, and employees will need to provide or arrange for their own transportation to and from Raton for personal supplies.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
2+ years of experience in the hunting industry. Must possess knowledge of experiential and education-based hunting practices.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The employee must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The employee must be able to write routine reports and correspondence. Fluency in English is required. Second language preferred, but not required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The employee must be able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. The employee must be able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
The employee must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The employee must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. The employee must be able to think quickly and adapt to changing situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
The employee must possess a valid Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. The employee’s driving record must meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company's insurance carrier.
