      Job Title: HVAC Technician

      Job Description

      The HVAC Technician will perform and direct various preventive maintenance and repairs within a local campus. This role involves hands-on work to ensure buildings and building systems are safe, reliable, and efficient. The technician will execute quality control audits, provide technical assistance, and perform maintenance and repair on a wide range of building systems.

      Responsibilities

      • Perform and assist in the identification and implementation of maintenance and repair strategies.
      • Execute quality control audits and inspections, providing deficiency reports to supervisors.
      • Provide technical assistance, training, and support for advanced building operations and troubleshooting.
      • Perform hands-on repair and maintenance work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems, and more.
      • Manage relationships with team members, contractors, clients, and customers.
      • Schedule and prioritize work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
      • Engage others to gain cooperation and teamwork.
      • Conduct performance counseling and performance management of direct reports.
      • Recognize, assess, and mitigate or eliminate risk.
      • Understand and use proper PPE for associated tasks.
      • Maintain properties in peak operational condition through preventive maintenance and repair service work.

      Essential Skills

      • Diploma or GED.
      • 5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
      • Knowledge of applicable codes, laws, and regulations.
      • NFPA 70E and OSHA 10 certifications.
      • Ability to effectively use computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Skill in using the internet and web-based applications.
      • Ability to work with CMMS, ABS, and BMS programs.
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Vocation degree program or apprenticeship.
      • Higher education is desirable.
      • Ability to use handheld electronic devices.
      • Knowledge of customer and personal services principles.

      Work Environment

      The work is campus-based with extensive walking between buildings. The role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and engage in various physical activities. Technicians work exposed to various weather conditions, including heat, sunlight, rain, and cold, and are expected to work during daylight and nighttime hours as needed. Overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call duties may be required.

      This is a Contract position based out of El Paso, Texas. Long term career opportunity.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
