      Could you be our HVAC Test Technician we are looking for to work with us in Crewe for Alstom?

      Your future role

      Take on a new challenge in Crewe and apply your HVAC Testing Technical expertise in a new cutting-edge field. Due to the growth and internalisation of the UK ALSTOM overhaul portfolio, Crewe has been given the opportunity to recruit a HVAC test/Diagnostic technician. You’ll report to the Head of Technical Services and work alongside a dedicated and passionate Services team in Alstom UK&I.

      Day-to-day, you’ll support the demanding production activities related to the overhaul of various rail HVAC systems. The role will be reporting into the site industrial team and primarily be involved in the technical support for the daily production throughput of Saloon and Cab HVAC units from various customers across the UK.We’ll look to you to the following:

      • Removal and renewal/replacement of the main refridgeration components such as compressor, condenser, evaporator , TX valve, filter drier etc. and associated electrical protection and control components as part of the overhaul process. Full functional testing is then required to validate this overhaul.
      • Supporting production staff by fault finding failing overhauled units in both refridgerant and electrical aspects
      • Conducting performance testing following the overhaul
      • Be able to read electrical schematics
      • Process auditing inline with F-Gas regulations
      • Collating trend data from the production processes to propose improvements
      • Supporting the production teams this role will be critical to achieving the daily targets required to support the challenging volume of work

      All about you

      • A background in Heating / Ventilation / AC / Chiller systems
      • Experience in the diagnosing of system faults, repair and maintenance of refridgeration and electrical circuits
      • F-GAS and ODS qualified – C &C 2079 Cat 2
      • A suitable electrical qualification, such as BS7671, C&G 2365, 2357
      • Fault finding of refridgeration and electrical systems

      Desirable

      • NVQ Level 2&3 in Air conditioning and refrigeration
