      Description of Duties:

      The Hybrid Cloud Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

      · Establishing cloud/virtualization governance and driving cloud-native modernization.

      · Ensuring tight integration with IT, cybersecurity, and application delivery teams.

      · Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain hybrid environments for the Missile Defense Space Center.

      · Administer Container Platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, and Podman as well as maintain Repositories/Registries.

      · Work with system engineers to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions.

      · Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations.

      · Be responsible for ensuring system software installations, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.

      · Carrying out high-level activities associated with design and system architecture.

      · Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, or hybrid) for enterprise workloads.

      · Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure integration and compliance.

      · Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS transitions.

      · Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates (e.g., ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation)

      · This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge on-prem and cloud platforms in support of defense, intelligence, and enterprise modernization programs.

      Basic Requirements:

      Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience; Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 8 years of general experience.

      · Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

      · Must have 8 years of IT experience, with 3 years in cloud engineering roles

      · Must have 3 years of experience in management or leadership roles

      · Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform

      · Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, etc.)

      · Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization, and service mesh (AKS, EKS, Istio)

      · Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud solutions

      · Understanding of networking, storage, identity, and DevSecOps pipelines

      · Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      · Must meet DoD 8570 certification requirements (e.g. Sec+) within 60 days of hire

      · Must have, or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

      Desired Requirements:

      · Current DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance

      · Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional)

      · Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal cloud initiatives

      · Experience with model-based system engineering models and tools

      · Experience working in an agile environment

      · Have experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment

      · Have experience writing and executing Ansible playbooks

      · Have experience with scripting languages (e.g. YAML, Python)

      This position is expected to pay $149,000 - $174,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
