      We are accepting applications for an External Auditor 2 within the Office of Financial Management, headquartered at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 11th floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

      What You'll Do:

      Duties include but are not limited to:

      · Conducts site-visits of structured programs, including financial, compliance, and operational reviews.

      · Prepares report of findings and recommendations.

      · Reviews corrective action plans for resolutions.

      · Performs desk reviews of 400+ agencies and 50 ADAMHS/CMH Boards’ audits each year to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, Department Financial and Compliance Audit guidelines, and Department internal policies/procedures.

      · Identifies and prepares report of audit exceptions, disallowances, irregularities, or problem areas.

      · Follows up with local ADAMHS Boards for audit resolutions.

      · Performs desk reviews of 400+ agencies financial audits and/or reports.

      · Research state and federal audit requirements.

      · Provides recommendations for Department’s audit guidelines and works with ADAMHS/CMH Boards and direct-funded agencies to implement policies and guidelines.

      · Participates in departmental trainings to boards, provider agencies, and independent public accountants as needed.

      · Maintains Department's audit records.

      · Assists supervisor with special projects, as needed, other related accounting/auditing tasks, (e.g., risk assessment), ensures unit productivity standards are maintained.

      · Updates audit programs and procedures.

      Currently operating under a hybrid schedule. Two days in-office per week, subject to change.

      4 yrs. exp. in auditing or accounting which must have included 2 yrs. auditing exp. in accordance with auditing standards or in accordance with prescribed management policies &/or procedures as specified on agency position description.

      -Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting, business administration, computer science or related field; 24 mos. exp. in auditing or accounting which must have included 12 mos. auditing exp. in accordance with auditing standards or in accordance with prescribed management policies &/or procedures as specified on agency position description.

      -Or 12 mos. exp. as External Auditor 1, 66461.

      -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
