      OhioMHAS Information Services is the technology arm of the third largest cabinet level agency in the state of Ohio. We support more than 3,200 employees within six regional inpatient behavioral health hospitals, Ohio Pharmacy Services, and Central Office. We develop and support technology for several critical business solutions used by the agency as well as by county and local behavioral health care providers across the state.

      Role Overview:

      As an IT Project Manager supporting Epic Systems Implementation at OhioMHAS, many opportunities are offered to impact family, friends, and the residents of the State of Ohio. The Project Manager in this role will primarily work with the initial implementation of the Epic System and then support the system and end user to make sure the technology is optimized for our Regional Psychiatric Hospital for enhanced work processes and overall patient care. We are a close-knit community of IT staff and develop applications which allows mental health and addiction providers to serve our community in need. Our applications support, regulate, fund and collect data to allow our organization the ability to respond to those in crisis as well as those needing continuity of care.

      At OhioMHAS, our IT staff is motivated by the agency’s mission, and we are accepting applications for an IT Project Manager within the Office of Information Technology, headquartered at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 33rd floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

      What you will do…

      • Provides project management and communication for the implementation of the application, application area or specialized team
      • Manages the scope, schedule and quality of the project in a specific assigned application area
      • Works closely with the Program staff and other Project Managers to coordinate activities
      • Advises team members on governance, project issues, project risks, decisions, key success factors of the project and lessons learned
      • Manages teams to consensus decisions that support organizational objectives
      • Understand the business drivers and requirements of projects
      • Development of project plans using appropriate methodologies
      • Formal project-level status, metrics, issues and risks reporting
      • Strong working knowledge of MS Project to plan team members' work and assigns tasks and monitor progress
      • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
      • Excellent written skills

      This position will require out-of-state training.

      The following are the minimum qualifications for this position. For further consideration, applicants must clearly identify how qualifications are met within the education and/or experience sections of the application.

      The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

      Alternative 1:

      • Successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned AND
      • 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects

      Alternative 2:

      • 3 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal) AND
      • 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects

      Alternative 3:

      • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

      Additional preferred qualifications:

      • Previous end-to-end experience in a project management role leading Epic software implementation
      • Experience creating analytics assets/implementing analytics projects such as Cogito
