      Job Description:

      JOB SUMMARY

      The Hyperbaric Technician works under the direction of a physician and in collaboration with other providers to perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy for approved patients. The individual operates and monitors the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support systems and performs necessary maintenance to systems daily.

      JOB QUALIFICATIONS

      EDUCATION

      For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

      Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

      Preferred/Optional: Associate in one of the following: Emergency medical technician (EMT), paramedic, licensed practical nurse (LPN), certified nurse aide (CNA), certified medical assistant (CMA) or completion of corpsman training through the military.

      EXPERIENCE

      Minimum Required: Demonstrated proficiency with verbal, written and non-verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership ability.

      Preferred/Optional: Experience in hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Extensive knowledge and/or experience with the services offered throughout Marshfield Clinic Health Systems or medical field related experience

      CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

      The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

      Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or equivalent within one year of hire and the Hyperbaric Chamber course within one year of hire.

      Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) awarded by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology at time of hire.
