      PATHWAYS IN TECHNOLOGY (P-TECH) is a high school/early tertiary program, developing digital skills and job ready students. It is a three-way partnership that brings together the best elements of high school, tertiary education and the professional world. P-TECH enables students to begin their tertiary and professional lives early and with more support than the typical school-to-work pathway. Students will graduate with an Advanced Diploma (qualification terminology may vary) and with the skills and knowledge they need in order to secure an entry-level position in Information Technology fields or continue to complete study in a higher education institution.


      As part of the P-TECH program in Aotearoa, students can apply for paid internships at IBM. The internship program brings together learning in the classroom and putting skills into practice within the workplace. Students will have hands-on experience in IBM in real projects.

      To be eligible to apply Intern applicants must meet the following requirements:
      Be a student enrolled in Year 12 continuing in P-TECH in 2023
      Have been invited to apply or this position.

      Desired Attributes and Skills:
      • Successful completion of all work and pass their current year of study
      • Intention to continue a further program with Manukau Institute of Technology and a future career in IT e.g. Advanced Diploma or a Bachelor in Information Technology
      • Desirable: have registered and completed an IBM SkillsBuild activity or badge program.
