Home to the Chicago Bulls (NBA) and Chicago Blackhawks (NHL), we've welcomed over 70 million fans and host more than 200 events annually, from premier sporting events and concerts to family shows and special industry events. In the role as an Ice Crew Member, you will help our team bring the next round of stories to life on the United Center campus.

      Ready to take center stage?

      The Ice Crew Member will operate to perform pre-game, in-game, and post-game duties. All duties are subject to change and others may be requested at a future time.

      Specific Duties: (Other duties may be assigned)

      • Pre-Game

      Assist Zamboni Drivers in ice maintenance/game set up (tools, shovels, nets, goal holes, etc.)

      Assist Blackhawks production/youth hockey/marketing departments with their set-ups (carpets, equipment, etc.)

      • In-Game:

      Shovel during NHL TV timeout
      Assist Zamboni drivers with intermission ice maintenance (move nets, clean goal holes, patch ice, etc.)
      Assist UC staff for any rink issues (broken glass, dasher boards, netting, etc.)
      Assist Blackhawks production/youth hockey/marketing departments with their set- ups (carpets, equipment, etc.)

      • Post-Game:

      Assist Zamboni Drivers in putting away/cleaning up ice maintenance/game set-up (tools, shovels, nets, goals holes, rubber matting, etc.
      Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

      Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

      • The individual may be required to, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear for up to 1/3 of the work shift and use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, sit, stand for 2/3 or more of the shift.
      • The individual may be required to lift more than 100 pounds for up to 1/3 of the work shift.
      • Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and focusing abilities.
      • The Team Member is exposed to wet humid conditions and extreme cold on the arena, for 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift and work near moving mechanical parts and risk electrical shock for 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift.
      • The work environment has a loud noise level.

        The pay range for this role is $75.00 per game. Compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications.
