- Navigate through reimbursement barriers for patients and providers, and therefore, optimize access to Takeda specialty products for the appropriate patients
- Resource for reimbursement, access, and policy education to patients and families to ensure that they are well-informed
- Be able to build professional relationships while navigating sensitive conversations related to access, cost, and reimbursement in a manner that supports the vision of Takeda’s partnership and commitment to the specialty community
- Resource for alternative insurance options for patients and provide information on relevant reimbursement topics related to our products
- Ongoing support of the Takeda Patient Support team and when necessary working as a liaison between TPS and our customers
- Develop relationships with patient access stakeholders including office management, institution administrators, billing and coding staff, nurses, and other individuals to deliver information that facilitates patient access to and appropriate reimbursement of Takeda products
- Reactively and appropriately respond to patient case issues at the account level and support the use of HUB services to resolve current and future problems.
- Be responsible for understanding and upholding Takeda Legal and Compliance guidance at a customer and field leadership level in terms of access, cost, and reimbursement-related issues.
- Resource to providers and hospitals regarding billing, reimbursement, and procurement options
- Provide reimbursement education and support to sites of care/treatment centers if requested or necessary, with specific emphasis on Takeda Patient Support reimbursement and access services
- Reimbursement/Access conflict resolution
- Provide prior authorization and appeal support to HCP offices
- Investigate reimbursement-related issues and general payer inquiries
- Representing Takeda at Regional and National conferences or programs in line with legal and compliance guidelines
- Develop and implement special projects to address regional-based objectives
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 3+ years of prior relationship management experience required
- Prefer 3+ years of field-based experience in account management, sales or medical affairs.
- Excellent working knowledge of the evolving reimbursement landscape and the practice management environment
- Demonstrated willingness to collaborate and partner with internal colleagues
- Demonstrated knowledge of the complex regulatory environment
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated excellence in account management, relationship development, and account penetration
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and flexibility to meet customer demands
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel Requirement: Prefer candidates who live within the assigned territory. (Tampa, Ft. Myers, Orlando, Miami & Ft. Lauderdale) The ability to travel 50-75% over a broad territory is required, with the ability to drive and/or fly within the territory of Florida.

Job Description
Join Takeda as a Patient Access Manager (IG) covering the Florida Territory consisting of (Tampa, Ft. Myers, Orlando, Miami & Ft. Lauderdale). The Patient Access Manager (PAM) provides logistical reimbursement and access assistance, education, and support for rare diseases for those patients who have been prescribed Takeda therapy. This individual will work closely with physicians, institutions, nurses, pharmacists, and office staff, as well as patients, families, and patient organizations to prevent and address barriers to patient access. The PAM will utilize a regional team approach while working with numerous internal/external groups such as; Case Managers, Managed Markets, Medical Science Liaisons, Policy and government affairs, Territory Business Managers, and Marketing teams to facilitate and optimize patient care. The objectives are dictated by the specific needs of each region and the percentage of time spent on each job may vary. The PAM will provide reimbursement and access education to key accounts including, but not limited to, infusion clinics, HCP practices, academic institutions, hospitals, and specialty pharmacies as appropriate based on Takeda’s expanding portfolio needs. They will also identify and resolve reimbursement issues.
