JOB SUMMARY:
Provide ancillary support to registered Imaging staff to ensure all patients are appropriately safety cleared prior to exam.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED requiredQualifications:
• One year experience in a radiology setting preferred
• MRI clearance to enter scanner room
• Must be a skilled communicator, both oral and written
• Must have a basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Must possess or be able to obtain BLS within 30 days of hire date
• Basic computer and office equipment skills required
• The ability to multi-task in a busy setting necessary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Gathers appropriate lab results, medical history, safety and surgical implant history prior to exam date.
• Ensures teleradiology exams are processed to completion.
• Assists Registered Technologists in scanner rooms as needed.
• Prepares and answers basic questions from imaging patients on exam day.
• Communicates with other members of the patient’s health care team to coordinate patient care.
• Answers internal phone calls and triages appropriately.
• Contacts referring provider with any order questions.
• Schedules outside imaging orders.
• Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES:
No direct reports.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be proficient in the English language, both verbally and written, in order to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, vendors, and the general public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Stand, walk or sit for six to seven hours a day
• Lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Carry items up to 20 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens, odorous chemicals and specimens, electrical and mechanical hazards, bio-contaminated waste, and unpleasant elements.
