Support Critical Immigration Cases
Prepare USCIS forms, cover letters, and filings
Meet with clients to review applications and gather declarations
Translate documents and maintain accurate records
Lead Naturalization Workshops
Organize community workshops helping immigrants become U.S. citizens
Coordinate volunteers, manage registrations, and prepare workshop materials
Keep Operations Running Smoothly
Assist with mailings, passport applications, and client intake
Serve as a first point of contact when needed
Grow Professionally
Participate in training and mentorship to become DOJ Accredited
Engage in weekly and monthly quality improvement meetings
Be a Community Ambassador
Share critical immigration information at outreach events
Build connections with other service providers and community partners
Has at least 2 years of experience in a professional office environment (legal or immigration setting preferred)
Is bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
Thrives in a detail-oriented, fast-paced role
Communicates with clarity and empathy
Enjoys learning and wants to advance to DOJ Accreditation
Is organized and tech-comfortable (experience with legal databases is a plus)
Holds a valid Nebraska driver’s license and is insurable
High school diploma or equivalent required; paralegal certification or associate’s degree preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Regular weekday schedule with occasional evenings or weekends for outreach events
In-state travel required weekly (mileage reimbursed)

Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services is looking for a compassionate, organized, and bilingual professional to join our dedicated team at El Puente. As an Immigration Legal Assistant, you’ll not only support immigrants and their families through life-changing legal processes but also set your own career in motion—this role is on a fast track to Department of Justice (DOJ) Accreditation.
