      Immigration Paralegal

      (Boston, Full-time On-Site)

      Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking an entry-level Immigration Paralegal to join our team. In this essential role, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our services, directly supporting our attorneys in delivering exceptional client service and upholding our commitment to excellence.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Work with all types of employment-based immigration processes and case types.
        Work in a team environment while building knowledge of Firm, client and Immigration processes.
        Under direction of Attorney, take lead with client communications for intake of cases, collection of documents and information, and troubleshooting issues.
        Provide guidance about software systems and case processing to clients and foreign nationals as directed.
        Competent case handling while developing wider knowledge base and increased level of independence.
      • Evaluate cases, communicate concerns, and proactively and appropriately escalate if/as necessary.
      • Draft petition forms, support letters and assemble supporting documents for attorney review.
      • Run weekly case reports for attorney's using case management software.
        Develop competence with case management and other reporting tools and technologies used to manage data and information.
      • Manage status of all filed applications and petitions per policy and utilize Firm document, data management, and accounting/billing systems to prepare, monitor, and record all aspects of work.
      • As directed, make contact with government agencies to obtain information regarding any potential process delays or problems and communicates the same to attorney.
        Conduct pertinent research as necessary to gather information, e.g. background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, standard processing times, etc.
      • Able to juggle multiple assignments and/or deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor and timely seeks assistance when needed.
      • Willing and capable to offer assistance to others when needed.
      • Maintains an exceptional client service attitude and professional demeanor at all times.
      • Shows initiative, flexibility, resiliency and a willingness to adapt to change.
      • Takes ownership and gets the job done without the need for prodding or supervision.
      • Maintains a positive, “can do” attitude when dealing with clients, co-workers and attorneys.
      • Contributes to an atmosphere of teamwork and collegiality.

      Requirements

      • Seeking candidates who are enthusiastic to learn the day-to-day operations of a business immigration law practice, eager to help find solutions to a variety of complex immigration-law issues, strong writers, well organized, and comfortable in a fast paced environment.
      • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook; document management system experience is a plus.
      • Outstanding task case management, prioritization and organizational skills are necessary.
      • Successful candidates will possess strong writing skills, and will value attention to detail.

      The hourly rate range for this position is $29.11 - $36.77. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
