Nuveen’s private equity impact strategy focuses on two primary themes – Climate Mitigation & Adaptation and Inclusion & Affordability – that aim to drive an inclusive transition to a sustainable economy. The Private Equity Impact team aims to generate strong, risk-adjusted returns for its investors while concurrently achieving important social and environmental outcomes aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, by investing in companies that drive efficiency, productivity, and scale in sustainable development for underserved people and the planet.

Nuveen’s Private Equity Impact team currently consists of nine dedicated team members, who are responsible for making direct private equity investments as both a minority investor in later-stage growth equity financings, as well as selectively as a control investor in lower-middle market buyouts. The group’s investments are truly global in nature, with a portfolio currently comprised of companies in both emerging and developed markets. In addition to its primary focus on direct investments, the team also manages a targeted private equity fund investment program on behalf of TIAA.

The Associate role is designed for a self-motivated, ambitious and intellectually curious individual
who is eager to learn and optimistic about the role that private equity can play in addressing some of society’s broader challenges. The Associate will be involved in all aspects of the investment process, including financial modeling, transaction sourcing, due diligence and valuation, structuring,
documentation and portfolio company management. The team currently possesses a strong, cohesive and supportive culture that uses a collaborative approach towards investing and adding value to portfolio companies. This position will be based in our New York City office.
