The Role:

Cognizant seeks to hire an IMS Engineer for our IoT Practice. The IoT Practice provides Product Engineering best practice/standards development, deployment, management, and operational support across the communications, media and technology industry. The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications below. This is an excellent opportunity for career progression within this expanding global team.

Experience:

· 8 to 12 years of experience in working with IMS Core, Virtualization

· Experience in networking protocols such as SIP, IP, and LTE, and SS7 protocols

· Hands-on experience on voice and multimedia communication services, VNF/CNF Orchestration

· Hands-on experience with IMS network components such as Call Session Control Functions (CSCF)

· Experience in integrating other network components such as the IP network and the radio access network with IMS

· Experience in Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and JS/python/ansible

· Knowledge of LTE (EPC) packet data core, Policy/charging and QoS enforcement in packet data networks, and services including RCS or VoLTE

· Knowledge of cloud native infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker), and/or OpenStack

· Proficient with version control systems like Git for managing code repositories and collaboration with other developers.

· Knowledge of protocol analysis tools such as IrisView, NetScout and Wireshark

· Proficient in debugging tools and techniques

· Experience in building DevOps Pipeline (Jenkins etc.), Automation

Qualifications

· Should be adaptable and able to learn new technologies and network components quickly (eg: VNF/CNF)

· Understanding of industry standards and best practices for IMS network deployment and maintenance

· Awareness of security best practices, as network devices need to be secure. This includes understanding encryption, authentication, and network security

· Experience in testing on new SBC solutions like cloud SBC, and new vendor products such as Metaswitch, Genband, Mavenir etc

· Certification in Linux, OpenStack, Ansible, Kubernetes, Cloud Security or equivalent
