Perform in vivo studies to assess cardiac function (e.g. echocardiography, hemodynamics), following pre-established protocols and IACUC guidelines.
Collect and prepare various tissues for in vitro analysis and biomarker evaluation (e.g. WB, ELISA, histology).
Support hypothesis-driven research by designing and executing new methodologies and experimental protocols based on literature search.
Independently analyze, interpret, and communicate results to internal stakeholders and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
Bachelor’s Degree
2+ years of academic and / or industry experience
Good understanding of basic cardiovascular physiology
Basic understanding of the pathophysiology of heart failure
Small animal handling experience including dosing and blood collection by multiple routes.
Microdissection and surgery on animal models preferred.
Experienced in small animal Echocardiography to evaluate cardiac function.
Collection and evaluation of ECG data in small animals. (Experience with emka collection and analysis platforms preferred)
Experienced in working with and the safety protocols involved in working with AAV.
Collaborates with other scientists within the research group to meet group goals and objectives.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work on multiple projects.

The Immunology and Cardiovascular Thematic Research Center (TRC) at BMS is one of the fundamental Research and Early Development (R&ED) units delivering therapeutics to patients. Seeking an Associate Scientist to join a multidisciplinary, cardiovascular-focused Pharmacology team. The primary function of the role is to perform in vivo experiments to test pharmacodynamic effects of novel Biologics and small molecules and to characterize them in models of cardiovascular disease.
