About the Role
‘Awena' – Cornwall Virtual School for Children In Care (CiC), Children with a Social Worker and Previously Looked After Children (PLAC), is a statutory service in the Local Authority focused on improving the education, educational outcomes and aspirations of vulnerable children. We are a cross-phase school with our learners ranging from 2 to 18 years (up to 25 years for advice and guidance), with the majority of our learners attending an actual school/education setting. We are part of the Council Corporate Parenting for CiC and work across Together for Families.
This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.
Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
We are happy to talk about flexible working options such as part-time or compressed hours. We will consider applications from those wishing to work on a term-time only basis, the advertised salary amount would then be a pro-rata amount. About you
We are seeking a team member who works with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and who has an interest in how information and data can be utilised to target timely support for vulnerable children. This is a role requiring specific knowledge and experience of working with data applications for analysis and presentation.
The successful candidate will have a personable yet professional manner when dealing directly with schools, alternative providers, social workers and other Cornwall Council teams.
