      Qualifications

      POSITION REQUIREMENTS

      FORMAL EDUCATION:

      Required:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

      KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

      Required:

      • 1+ years of accounting, finance, or tax experience
      • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
      • Hardworking team player, detail oriented, organized, outgoing personality and strong written and verbal communication skills.

      Preferred:

      • Prior experience in tax compliance and related software

      TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

      Required:

      • Microsoft Excel
      • Microsoft Word

      Preferred:

      • Knowledge in Accounting Systems

      Responsibilities

      CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

      Preparation of State and Local Income Tax Returns

      • Prepare state and local income tax returns, along with related quarterly estimated payments and extensions.
      • Research and calculate state and local tax modifications, tax credits, and multistate apportionment.
      • Assist with the resolution of state and local income and franchise notices. Maintain notice log for proper documentation, resolution, and follow up.

      Assistance with preparation of Federal Income Tax Returns

      • Assist in the preparation of federal income tax Sch M Book to Tax adjustments and supporting schedules.
      • Review fixed asset system data to review and confirm the proper tax treatment and accurate tax deductions for all assets included on the system

      Accounting for Income Taxes

      • Perform monthly reconciliations of income and franchise tax general ledger accounts
      • Preparation of annual Return to Provision and State Effective Tax Rate computation and analysis.

      Tax Information Technology

      • Use technology skills for ongoing automation of tax processes and data flow to improve overall efficiencies.
      • Review and track general ledger chart of accounts and the impact on income tax compliance and audits.
