Enterprise Business Services – Global Time & Attendance (GTA)

This position is in the data engineering team of GTA under the Enterprise Business Services – People Tech organisation. The objective of the People tech organization is to build the best-in-class engineering, analytics and data science solutions that power the best experience for our people, adhering to the Walmart philosophy - Everyday Low Cost.

What you'll do:

• Work in an agile and diverse engineering team, closely partnering with backend & frontend engineers, product partners , tpms and analysts to help deliver high quality product

• Develop efficient and reliable systems and pipelines to support teams globally throughout Walmart

• Lead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; designing solutions (design docs, wireframes, implementation plans); writing and developing code; testing; collaborating with cross functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; ensuring on-time delivery.

• Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (issue, impact, criticality, root cause); engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; formulating an action plan; and performing actions as designated in the plan.

• Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 7-9 years of experience in software engineering
• Master’s/Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.
• 7 to 9 years of experience in both back-end and front-end development, with proficiency in the following tech stack: React Native, Java, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, and NoSQL databases. Azure Cloud knowledge is added advantage
• Strong understanding of microservice and cloud-native architectures, with hands-on experience in designing and deploying scalable systems.
• Strong understanding of micro-frontend architecture with hands-on experience in designing, developing Web applications using React Native
• Proven ability to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to enhance development workflows and ensure high-quality software releases.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated track record of effectively addressing complex technical challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A strong commitment to mentoring and supporting team members, contributing to their professional growth and the team’s overall success.
