      Position Summary:

      Necco has an opportunity for a Registered Dietitian. This role will provides advice on what to eat and drink to meet nutrient needs, promote health, and prevent disease for the clients we serve.

      The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

      RD shall provide the services of a qualified therapeutic dietitian. The RD’s sole responsibility hereunder shall be to provide consultation to the facility. As such, a consultant, the therapeutic dietitian, shall give guidance and counsel the Dietary Department’s food service program as follows:

      1. Provides consultation to administration regarding planning, policy development, and priority-setting, based on initial and ongoing evaluations of the food & nutrition department.
      2. Develops and reviews facility’s menus according to the Department of Education food and nutrition guidelines.
      3. Offers in-service education to facility staff as requested.
      4. Gives dietary consultation to any resident in the facility in accordance with physician orders.
      5. Counsels the patient, staff, and family regarding the patient’s nutritional needs.
      6. Charts nutritional information in accordance with the policies of the facility and accepted professional practice. This function is performed by either the dietitian or support personnel supervised by the dietitian.
      7. Makes appropriate referrals for continuing nutritional care.
      8. Serves as a consultant on any surveys for licensure or certification.

      Position Qualifications:

      To become a registered and licensed dietitian in Ohio, you must earn a bachelor’s or graduate degree from a regionally accredited college or institution that is consistent with the academic standards for dietitians according to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Ohio’s registered dietitians are highly regulated, and the requirements for licensure are described in Section 4759.06 to 4759.061 of the Ohio Revised Code. Only those who fulfill these qualifications may work as registered, licensed dietitians in Ohio and practice dietetics.
