  Summary of Responsibilities:

  Looking for an ideal team player who would report to the Procurement Manager. Responsible for representing Lubrizol to supply base and facilitating the procurement of indirect goods and service supporting North American production plants. The Indirect Sourcing Associate – Information Technology will have accountability to support the procurement of a broad range of equipment, supplies and services in support of organization objectives and plant operations. In addition, the Indirect Sourcing Associate – Information Technology will be responsible for ensuring that relationships between the company and vendors are maintained in a manner consistent with corporate policies, procedures, and quality standards.

  Perform assignments related to the procurement of goods and services including but not limited to negotiation and implementation of regional and national agreements, purchase of capital equipment, and contracting services required by Lubrizol’s chemical plants nationally. The Indirect Sourcing Associate – Information Technology shall work within the framework of the projects with multiple disciplinary teams (maintenance, project engineering, IT, legal, finance, accounts payable, etc.) to deliver an optimized solution from the total cost of ownership (TCO) and reduce operational risk to manufacturing plants and project engineering team.
  

  Primary activities include:

  • Act professionally in all work activities in a legal and ethical manner in compliance with applicable laws and support compliance of all corporate policies and regional/local Health, Safety, Environmental and Security practices.
  • Use RFIs (request for information) and RFQs (request for quotations) / RFPs (request for proposals) to identify best supply source.
  • Work with requisitioners to ensure POs are clear and accurately reflect internal needs.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings, reductions, rebates.
  • Ensure master data is accurate to allow efficient order processing and payment.
  • Ensure current commercial contracts and Alliance Agreements are being followed.
  • Lead and manage vendors and contractors to ensure Lubrizol’s deliverables are met.
  • Locate and assist with qualifying supply sources.
  • Negotiate restocking fees, freight terms, payment terms and all areas that enhance value.
  • Ensure contracts are being followed and continually improve price, quality, and service.
  • Assist buying staff to implement contracts and fully leverage Lubrizol's spend.
  • Perform GR/IR reconciliation in order to solve issues including blocking invoices inside VIM system.
  • Build strong internal customer relationships.
  • Train and educate others about purchasing process.
  • Other duties as defined.

  Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, logistics, finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or other technical degree. We are willing to consider extensive experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Three to Five years related indirect procurement experience.
  • Able to relate well with individuals at various levels, inside and outside of the organization.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of sourcing/purchasing methods and negotiation skills
  • Proficient with SAP and Ariba
