Lead planning and execution of the Museum’s major events (i.e. Annual Gala, openings and cultivation events for major donors and prospects, etc.)
Maintain direct relationships with donors and build new relationships by creating opportunities for engagement with the Museum and by highlighting museum programming.
Lead donor cultivation and engagement events for the Exhibitions Circle and Board engagement.
Maintain existing and develop new relationships with patrons, donors, trustees, and members
Devise and deliver donor engagement programs including special, talks, events, visits, cultivation dinners, and trips nationally and internationally
Execute special fundraising projects (i.e. art sales, patrons circles, Adopt-A-Building program, etc
Write and follow up letters of inquiry, acknowledgment letters, and appeals
Research new funding prospects and support all efforts to identify, cultivate, and steward new and existing donors
Create promotional materials and packages to support fundraising requests
Follow all processes and procedures for receiving and recording gifts and updating funder lists
Track all donors and prospects in Salesforce, run custom reports, generate mailing lists
Oversee the management and training of interns and temporary support staff as needed
Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, and a creative approach to problem-solving

Ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and adhering to deadlines
Prior experience planning large-scale events and donor programs
Knowledge and interest in contemporary art practice
Ability to think creatively, synthesize information effectively, and tailor information to appeal to a broad spectrum of funder interests
Proven ability to manipulate and analyze large volumes of data in Donor databases and CRMs (Salesforce preferred)
5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising
Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, a related field and/or its work experience equivalent
Availability to work onsite at the Queens Museum and nights and weekends as required
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
Strong computer skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and CRMs

Position Overview
The Individual Giving and Events Manager is responsible for leading the implementation of a robust fundraising strategy that builds and maintains individual donor relationships and increases individual support and engagement with the Museum across giving levels.
Responsibilities include overseeing and developing the Museum’s membership and patron programs, securing giving to support exhibitions and programs, conceiving and delivering creative patron engagement opportunities including special events and patron trips nationally and internationally, planning and executing the Museum’s two annual fundraising events (Annual Gala and Spring/Summer party), planned auctions and other events, developing and leading in the outreach for individual giving initiatives including online campaigns, supporting individual donor outreach for capital campaign support, and supporting Board giving and engagement. The Manager reports to and works closely with the Director of Development

Hybrid Work Model
The QM team is currently practicing a hybrid work model, incorporating a blend of onsite and remote working. QM department heads require attendance onsite at the Museum 3 days per week, to participate in in-person meetings and project work
