      About Alstom in India

      Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. Alstom has set up an Engineering Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and this coupled with a strong manufacturing base as well as localized supply chains, is uniquely positioned to serve customers across the globe.       OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

      • To lead & manage the Manufacturing activities of the site within the company guidelines & policies,
      • To coordinate and drive the action of the site management committee members,
      • To facilitate the site cohesion and represent Alstom at local level
      • To manage Social, Legal and EHS responsibilities for all the activities hosted on the site.

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • To manage & lead the Site manufacturing activities, maintaining Site cohesion within a matrix organization with internal (Engineering Product Line, Regions, Project Excellence, Components, Maintenance, etc.) and external interfaces (Unions, Customers, Govt organizations/Statutory bodies etc.). Represents Alstom at a local level.
      • Responsible for maintaining constructive relations with relevant Social Partners & providing a safe & healthy place of work for employees, complying with relevant EHS regulations. To comply fully with Alstom Code of Ethics.
      • To ensure the continuous deployment of Ways of Working behaviors within the Site, to provide the example within the Site & with interfaces, demonstrating them on a daily basis.
      • To successfully deploy best-practices to reach world-class excellence in Production & Quality Management; implementation of Alstom Performance Systems (APSYS) through autonomous team & lean manufacturing. Deployment of best-in-class Supply Chain operations in accordance with RS manufacturing policy.
      • Is a mandatory member of the FEI (serial Go GR) decision making board.
      • To proactively bring support to Projects, consistently achieving QCD commitments and active participation in Gate Reviews (DFQ) & Sector Project Reviews (SPR) to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. To bring all the necessary expertise & resources to Projects to build a high performing Site organization.
      • To coach & develop all Site employees, aligned with Alstom policies. Ensure the site is properly resourced with people with the right skills, knowledge and experience.
      • Successors are in place, with appropriate development plans, for all key positions. High Potential employees are given opportunities & coaching to support career development & Performance Improvement Plans are in place where required.
      • Optimization of general management and general services overhead.
      • Manage the potential risk relating to all work in progress.
      • Control and adaptation of local resources to the local workload. Achieves manpower efficiency targets.
      • Implementation of local change processes based upon business/organization decisions.
      • Implement Digital transformation with new practices - Industry 4.0 & Application to Manufacturing site

      Qualifications & Skills:

      EDUCATION

      • BE / ME [Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical]
      • Candidates should possess industrial background with significant industrial experience and proven track record in delivering high value projects

      BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:

      • Interpersonal Skills, Effective Communication & Decision making essential.
      • Multi-cultural Management Teamwork and Customer oriented
      • Data driven and courageous, rigor - Ability to manage teams in cross and multicultural relationships

      TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE

      • 20 to 24 years’ experience in Manufacturing / Industrial Management.
      • Experience in QMS, EMS & Good industrial safety practices and its effectiveness in day to day working.
      • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools is must.
      • Knowledge of railway industry, High voltage & Low voltage electrical products (norms, certifications…) would be an asset.
