Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematic and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting and other electrical components.
Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switch meters, regulators and reactors.
Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
Maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
Communicating on a constant basis with plant personal
Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WCB, Food Safety and other Company regulations and procedures.
Electrician with a journeyperson ticket/license or certificate of qualification and or Instrumentation Technician ticket
Excited and willing to work day & night shift (6 - 6) including weekends
Proven hands-on experience within food industry or high-speed packaging plant (preferred)
Electrical and PLC troubleshooting experience
Able to work collaboratively with all departments
Highly motivated initiator, able to work independently with minimum supervision
Effective communication skills, able to complete computer-based workorders

Journeyman Electrician/Instrumentation Technician – Brandon MB
Overview of the role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical and PLC systems in the plant.
Schedule: 12 hour Rotation – 6 – 6 Weekdays, days, nights and Weekends
Salary: $ 46.27/ hour + Trade Premium $1/hour, Shift Premium for hours worked from 6pm – 6am of $1.20/hour
*Those with an Instrumentation technician ticket and an Electrician ticket are eligible for the Dual Trade premium.
