      The Industrial Electricianu2019s role is to safely maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant electrical equipment, as well as upkeep of records for sustaining quarry operations.u00A0 This equipment ranges from small fractional horsepower motors to large medium voltage motors used to start mills and fans.u00A0u00A0

      This position is based in the Merkel, TX area.

      Responsibilities u00A0
      • Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls for rail operations
      • u00A0 Troubleshoot AC / DC motor controls and drives
      • Will be working with up to 480v
      • u00A0 Actively research potential upgrades and fine-tune existing operations to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reporting
      • u00A0 Work closely with engineering group and outside contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects
      • u00A0 Support corporate safety culture and perform duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations
      • u00A0 Lead by example on all MMM safety rules/procedures and MSHA compliance standards and ensure that all employees are following established safety policies and procedures
      • u00A0 Encourage employees to participate in Guardian Angel activities

      u00A0Minimum Education and Experience u00A0
      • 2-year technical degree in electrical or comparable experience preferred
      • u00A0 Certified / licensed Electrician preferred
      • u00A0 5 yearsu2019 experience in aggregates or similar industry desired
      u00A0
      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities u00A0
      • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
      • u00A0 Outstanding vendor relations skills (internal and external contractors)
      • u00A0 Must be willing to be on call
      • u00A0 Working knowledge of high voltage electrical systems required
      • u00A0 Skilled in the use of hand tools, test instruments and electrical construction tools
      • u00A0 Experience with PLCu2019s a plus

      Physical Requirements u00A0
      • Work requires the ability to lift a maximum of 100 lbs
      • u00A0 Must be able to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
      • u00A0 Work requires the ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
      • u00A0 Work requires the ability to use vibration tools
      • u00A0 Work requires the ability to perform work while lying on back for prolonged periods of time and in some cases cramped quarters
      • u00A0 Work requires the ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
      • u00A0 Work is performed 90% outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather and 10% indoors
      • u00A0 Able to reason through difficult operations problems, resolve said problems and/or relate same to others
