Job Description

- Support safety and quality program compliance throughout the Emerson and Premier Service Providers organizations.
- Work in partnership between the network resource planning and site manufacturing operations teams to provide functional support of the implementation and operation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), to track, document, and control the process of manufactured goods from raw materials to finished products to improve operational efficiency and optimize site production.
- Collaborate with the North America Factory Automation Leader on new project developments, to drive initiatives and improvements with innovation and new process technologies, including Intelligent Automation.
- Contribute to the design, development, and support for a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), inclusive of asset management, preventative maintenance, work planning, and spare parts inventory.
- Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
- Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
- Develop detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow, and apply continuous improvement methods, such as Lean Manufacturing, to achieve maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze performance and quality metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and problem-solving teams to implement changes that will drive sustained performance improvement.
- Collaborate with operations team members to understand changing needs of the RRCs; develop manufacturing procedures, processes, and best practices to implement standardized work across the network.
- Assist machine operators with day-to-day machining, tooling, and workholding challenges.
- Develop and manage project plans with cross-functional teams to support the North America RRC.
- Support Emerson’s commitment to Sustainability by implementing sustainable manufacturing processes or products.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Bachelor’s in relevant Engineering discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience to meet education requirement.
- Exposure to other Manufacturing Execution Systems and production, material, and capacity planning software.
- Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software.
- Experience managing budgets and resources, and an ability to develop and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical devices, products, and equipment.
- Problem solving skills with structured methods.
- Familiarity with Lean process tools, 5S +1, and ISO 9000 Standards.
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to direct and motivate people.
- Knowledge of the building process and construction principles, and relevant regulations and building codes.
- SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills.
- Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge and application of functional gauging and measuring instruments.
- Oracle experience

Emerson is currently seeking an Industrial Engineer. The individual selected for this role will collaborate heavily across all levels of the service operations organization to design and implement processes and tools that support Safety, Service Levels, and operational efficiency goals across the five North America Rapid Response Centers (RRCs) at the following locations: Atlanta, GA, Gonzales, LA, Pasadena, TX, Hamilton, ON (Canada) and Edmonton, AB (Canada).
This role will report directly into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be expected to provide valuable, educated insights on projects and processes that will support strategic plans and initiatives for the service organization.
This position may be located at one of the following locations:
Gonzales, LA
Marshalltown, IA
