      An opening is available for Industrial Maintenance Technician in the Utility Services Department. As Industrial Maintenance Technician, employee will be responsible to perform skilled maintenance, fabrication, overhaul and repair of mechanical equipment located within a water, wastewater, pump stations, lift stations and treatment facilities. but not limited to performing maintenance activities to include installation, preventative maintenance and repair in accordance with company policies and procedures. Other duties of the Technician include performing maintenance duties on various equipment and machinery as blowers, pumps, air compressors, bar screen, clarifiers, chlorinating equipment, aerators, hydraulics, pneumatics etc., vibration meter, dial indicators, welders, hand tools, and other tools and equipment as necessary to perform daily tasks and conducting daily checks of equipment as required. Additional technician duties are plumbing installation and repair, fabrication in machine shop including welding, cutting with gas torches and band saws, drilling and tapping. Technician duties also include laser aligning equipment, installing mechanical seals, using high lift equipment. Technician may also be required to form and pour concrete, construct walls. Employee will be responsible for: ensuring safe and proper operation of facilities in areas of responsibility; performing required maintenance and repairs for all Dalton Utilities facility locations; performing minor electrical repairs, minor plumbing repairs, minor roof repairs, minor HVAC to include chillers and gas boiler repairs and maintenance, assisting the Maintenance/SCADA Supervisor with coordination of contracted HVAC maintenance and repairs Utility-Wide; assisting the Reports Coordinator with both implementation and maintenance of DU Asset Management System; perform routine inspections and coordinate maintenance for Dalton Utilities Facilities; coordinating Utility?wide fire protection inspections for both sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers; performing Utility-wide roof inspections, minor repairs and coordination contracted repairs or replacement; troubleshoot and make necessary repairs to motorized gates; coordinating necessary contract maintenance and repairs for facilities. Basic understanding of electrical wiring and electrical circuits. Minor troubleshooting and repairs to electrical devices.

      HVAC including chillers and gas boiler experience and certification preferred

      This position is Monday ? Friday, 7:00 a.m. ? 3:30 p.m., but is also required to perform stand-by duty.

      Required skills include:

      Must have full dexterity of hands. Must be able to see, hear and speak. Strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic and repair skills are necessary. Visual acuity required with administrative machine operation. Must be able to walk up and down stairs. Must be able to drive a vehicle. Must be able to reach, sit, stoop and stand for extended periods. Must be able to lift small objects that weigh approximately 50 lbs. Computer skills necessary-Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.

      $22.50 ? $36.00 (Includes Level 3 ? Level 1)
