      Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer

The manufacturing engineer's responsibilities include identifying and continuously improving the manufacturing areas and processes, soliciting observations from operators, maintaining high level of product quality, designing new products and processes, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency while in compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining a safe work environment.

      To be successful as a manufacturing engineer you should be able to work effectively within a team and have a high level of technical expertise specific to takt time, line balancing and continuous flow manufacturing. An outstanding manufacturing engineer should be able to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for safety, quality, maximum efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

      Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

      Member of a small cross functional engineering team (mechanical/electrical/software) working to develop new products, improve existing products, and customize products to meet customer demands. Evaluating existing and new manufacturing processes to identifying areas for improvement. Problem solving efforts and coordination of corrective actions with other departments and implementing solutions. Managing design documentation release on assigned projects. Developing and updating detailed layouts for equipment, process flow.

      Developing and implementing cost-saving measures and quality control systems.

      Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.

      Qualifications:

      BS or MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred. Specific experience in semiconductor equipment or similar high complexity, fully automated capital equipment is a plus. Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.

      Experience in the application of lean principles is critical, certification a plus.

      Ability to work in a Class I semiconductor clean room.

      Ability to occasionally travel, including internationally.

      Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software.

      Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

      Strong organization and management skills.

      High level of formal problem solving skills.

      Strong analytical thinker.

      Physical Requirements:

      Job duties are performed in an office setting or in a clean room environment. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional overnight travel to TEL factory, training facilities and customer locations may be required.
