      The anticipated duration of this assignment is 6 months.

      The Infection Prevention Coordinator will support the CDPH STD Control Branch in several public health function areas, primarily in the area of mpox using a syndromic approach with STIs and HIV. This position will be responsible for for providing clinical consultation and medical subject matter expertise. This position responds to consults from local health jurisdictions and/or health care providers; coordinates distribution of mpox therapeutics with CDC and local health departments and providers as needed. Provides clinical and subject matter expert technical assistance to develop and update mpox and STI-related guidance for clinicians, local health jurisdictions, community partners, other service providers, community members, and/or other audiences as needed. This position will also support efforts in ensuring vaccine availability and administration in HIV clinics, STI/sexual health clinics, health centers, and pharmacies serving populations disproportionately affected by mpox. Conduct outreach and education to health care providers who are well-positioned to deliver testing and treatment.

      The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

      Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

      The salary range for this position is $113,500 - $258,100 (Annual Rate).

Strong diplomacy skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with external agencies. Highly developed ability to effectively convey the most complex clinical, technical, and educational information both verbally and in writing, and to produce high-quality reports, documentation, and presentations. Expert ability to collaborate effectively with management and staff across departments and to provide counsel and guidance on the most complex issues of functionality, clinical quality, efficiency, and program development in all aspects of infection control.
