What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Operate a telephone switchboard or two-way radio communication system
- Provide information to the public in a professional manner
- Assist with clerical tasks related to communication operations
- Ensure accuracy and truthfulness in all communications
- Adhere to established medical and physical standards for the role
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or completion of the GED
- Minimum of one year’s experience as a switchboard operator, receptionist, dispatcher, or communications clerk
- Ability to meet medical and physical standards as established by the Personnel Board
- Must be punctual and reliable for scheduled shifts
- Accuracy and truthfulness in application and job performance
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional experience in a similar role within the public sector
- Familiarity with civil service systems and application processes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with two-way radio communication systems
