  Aviva is pleased to announce the start of our recruitment for our Summer Intern Program for the period of May 2024 to August 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for post-secondary students to gain exposure to the insurance industry. We are currently looking for summer interns to join our insurance business across Canada. Aviva realizes the importance of creating internships as a means to develop talent to meet future requirements for entry-level insurance roles.
  

  We are looking for an Information Security Analyst – Summer Student to join our fast-growing team to help us operate cutting-edge platforms that provide data protection to enterprise systems. The ideal candidate is passionate about Data security and familiar with DevOps practices and has in-depth experience supporting large scale enterprise systems.

  The role is part of Data protection team which is part of Aviva’s Cyber security services unit.

  
  What you’ll do:

  • Ensure all existing policies and related documents are up to date.

  • Provide support and advisory to integrate databases and data management platforms with Database activity monitoring system and KMS systems for encryption.

  • Manage service requests and problems for systems by performing root cause analysis, identifying improvements, and driving to implementation.

  • Ensure adequate and timely resolutions to all audit/review issues assigned to the team.

  • Develop, maintain, and report on Data security & Cryptography Platforms KPIs and SLAs.

  • Responsible for documenting detailed support procedures and provide the required support to management on matters related to information security in a timely manner.

  What you need to succeed:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, Project Management or a related discipline

  • Demonstrates a desire to go above and beyond and hunger to learn and grow

  • Ability to adjust with minimal supervision where priorities may shift due to changing business needs

  • Strong verbal and written communicator with high caliber, professional business demeanor

  • Significant experience using Microsoft office programs (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • A real passion for helping people

  • Pervious Insurance program or work experience is an asset

  • Knowledge and experience using Jira is desirable

  • Familiar Python programming and interested in GIT Ops workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships and collaborative work approaches with bother internal and external contacts.
