Job Description

- Work schedule: rotating 12-hour shift, including weekends and holidays, combining a series of days on duty with time off before going onto a series of nights
- Position is located in Windsor, CT at our Backup Control Center and requires cross-training at the Master facility for one day every five weeks.

- Via the approved interfaces, this person monitors the systems and applications that comprise the ISO-NE computing environment, including the telecommunications circuits
- Serve on centralized IT Service Desk team; monitor, acknowledge, and dispatch service requests logged via the ISO-NE online trouble reporting system
- Triage computing and networking issues and / or escalate to the appropriate support teams as necessary
- Troubleshoot hardware and software trouble reports; take documented recovery measures; escalate to appropriate subject matter expert where applicable.
- Routinely walk through, monitor, and investigate as necessary the systems in ISO-NE computer rooms
- Configure new desktop and laptops using baseline pc images
- Provide Tier 1 technical user support and some tier 2 support to IT Technicians. The position is responsible for pc builds, hardware refresh, adds and moves. Other responsibilities include providing meeting / presentation support (includes audio and WEB collaboration), software installation and support, non-pc hardware installations and upgrades.
- 5 years of experience working in computer service and support environment.
- Experience in large scope desktop/laptop hardware and software conversion and deployment projects, including knowledge of pc hardware and drivers, hard drives, graphics support, and network interface configurations.
- Experience in software includes Microsoft Office Suite (including Exchange & Outlook), Windows 7+ Operating Systems, and online trouble reporting systems.
- Windows Operating systems, interoperability between software and hardware, IT Service Desk Ticketing Systems
- Strong technical aptitude and effective communication (written & verbal)
- Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted.
- Associate’s degree in computer technology,
- Industry Standard PC Support and / or systems certifications (such as Microsoft, COMPTIA, etc.)
- Experience with asset management systems
