Job Description

- Assist customers with library card registration and checking out and returning library materials.
- Aid in preparation, delivery, and receipt of Library materials; receive payment from customers.
- Provide technology assistance to customers with Library equipment.
- Help with reference and readers’ advisory questions for customers via face-to-face and telephone interactions
- Friendly, patient, and able to build relationships at all levels.
- Able to see the big picture and promote consistency and excellence of service.
- Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from customers and staff
- Flexible, positive, and willing to work with staff and colleagues to successfully overcome challenges.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with competing tasks and priorities.
- Flexible availability.
- At least six months of customer service-related experience, or an associate’s degree, or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and use technology as the Library continues to evolve.
- Competitive salary range starting at $16.67 per hour.
- A minimum of one four-hour shift each pay period.
- Experience working in a multi-location urban public library setting.

Hours for this position are:
Hours vary Monday-Sunday. Shifts will be in 4 or 8-hour increments. Candidates will work a minimum of one 4-hour shift per pay period. The Subpool assists covering all 15 locations and hours are subject to change according to organizational needs.
