      You Will Be Responsible for:

      • Regularly review and analyze security logs and alerts from various systems and platforms to detect and investigate potential threats or anomalies.
      • Collaborate with City Staff on identity management platforms to ensure robust access control and user authentication processes are in place and functioning correctly.
      • Working with various security environments such as Microsoft 365 Endpoint Protection and its security features, SIEM tools, such as Splunk or LogRhythm, Active Directory and more.
      • Interface with other DoIT divisions, such as network, systems, and application teams, on security-related issues to ensure a cohesive security posture across the organization.
      • Aid in the development and maintenance of documentation related to security procedures, policies, and incident response protocols.
      • Participate in the design and implementation of security measures and controls in line with the organization’s security strategy and compliance requirements.
      • Provide training and guidance to other staff members on best practices for maintaining cybersecurity, including awareness and prevention strategies.
      • Manage and coordinate security projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet the specified requirements while also handling day-to-day security operations.
      • Present and conduct training sessions on cybersecurity best practices for city business owners and residents, promoting community-wide awareness and fostering a culture of proactive cyber safety.

      Education and/or Experience:
      IT Analyst II: Graduation from college with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and four (4) years of systems and programming experience or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      Knowledge of the latest enterprise business class systems; the principles of computer systems, procedures, analysis and design; principles and techniques of programming and programming documentation; database design and structure; data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications; large network environments and an understanding of network protocols; systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support; systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support; database design in Microsoft SQL and Access; Microsoft .NET, Java Script, Visual Basic, Excel, Word, Outlook and HTML5. Ability to write reports using Crystal Reports or other database reporting tools; analyze and problem solve and conceptualize solutions; to be self-motivated; prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities: communicate effectively, orally and in writing; read, interpret and apply complex technical publications, manuals and other documents in performance of assigned tasks; train users; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

      Special Requirements:
      Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS
      Frequent standing and sitting. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five pounds, such as files, stacks of paper, references, and other materials. Moving from place to place within the office, some reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.

      WORKING CONDITIONS
      Generally clean work environment with limited exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, odors, or noise. Video terminal is used on a daily basis.

      Successful candidate will be required to:
