Then the SC Department of Agriculture wants you to join our IT Team! We are seeking an Information Technology Consultant/Endpoint Technician who will:

  
  

  • Provide end-user support and technical assistance to agency employees both in office and working remotely.
  • Monitor the IT Helpdesk ticketing system and address and resolve technology problems for end users.
  • Support the agency’s side of network maintenance and security.
  • Stay abreast of technology trends.
  • Perform IT functions such as imaging workstations, setting up printers, installing software and peripherals.
  • Assist users with network accounts, set up and maintain email and Active Directory (AD) accounts, and provide desk and cell phone support.
  • Monitor and maintain IT equipment inventory.
  • Assist with the repairs and replacement of mobile devices in accordance to the guidelines for upgrades and ensure all agency data is secure.
  • Participate in problem-solving and strategic planning for IT initiatives.
  • Perform migration of mobile devices to the new Mobile Device Management (MDM) software solution.
  • Assist with audio visual equipment set-up and/or user support.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between SCDA and the Department of Administration Division of Technology Operations to facilitate shared services and ensure compliance with state guidelines.
  • Work with third party vendors to install and maintain SCDA user software and equipment.

  • A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data and voice communications system design, installation, operation, repair, procurement of information technology equipment and/or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems and a minimum of 3 (three) years' directly related experience. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year qualification.
  • Valid vehicle operator's license and the ability to drive and operate vehicle.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior information technology end user desktop support
  • CompTIA A+ or Security + Certification
  • Experience performing or supporting cyber security awareness training, assessments, and audits

  • Familiarity with computer systems and application analysis, design, testing, debugging and maintenance techniques.
  • Problem solving skills for computer hardware and software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze data and provide solutions to complex problems; prepare technical and user-friendly reports in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to establish working relationships with users and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal with peers, users, vendors, and management.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted, climb ladders, work overhead and on elevated surfaces.
  • Ability to squat, kneel and work in extreme heat and cold.
  • In-state travel is required with occasional overnight travel.
  • Professional dress and conduct are required.
  • Position is located on the campus of the State Farmers Market in West Columbia and is remote position.
  • Willing to work two agency events per year.
