  Job Summary

  The IT Infrastructure Administrator IV is a key technical leader responsible for the design, implementation, and tactical oversight of the organization’s IT server and network infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in server administration, virtualization, and network systems, along with a proven track record of leading infrastructure projects. The IT Infrastructure Administrator ensures the high availability, performance, and security of enterprise systems while mentoring junior staff and collaborating across the IT department to drive technology initiatives.

  Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Windows Server environments across office and datacenter locations.
  • Architect and manage enterprise-grade VMware environments, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, ensuring scalability and resilience.
  • Design and implement fiber channel networks and enterprise level storage appliances.
  • Oversee the configuration and optimization of network infrastructure, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, firewalls, and ISP connectivity.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for infrastructure-related escalations, providing advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Integrate and manage critical power systems such as UPS, PDU, and ATS to ensure data center reliability.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, proactively addressing potential issues to maintain uptime and service quality.
  • Implement security best practices, including patch management, access controls, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other team members and support staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure strategies with business goals.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and be available for flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep expertise in server and storage infrastructure, including enterprise-grade hardware, SAN/NAS systems, and fiber channel switching.
  • Advanced proficiency in VMware virtualization, including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related ecosystem tools.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and system hardening practices.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure; experience with hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with VXLAN and software-defined networking (SDN) technologies is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and advanced routing/switching concepts.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and lead infrastructure initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team collaboration and mentoring skills, with experience guiding junior staff and contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent are preferred.
