Job Description

- Responsible for the definition, engineering and operationalization of new CI-CD pipelines that are leveraged by multiple software delivery teams
- Design, implement, and integrate new CI/CD Platform or product line capabilities using GitLab CICD, Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus and other tools
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve existing capabilities that align with business needs
- Administer and maintain current CI/CD Platform and products by implementing roadmap for tool upgrades, addressing security efforts, monitoring CI/CD platform tools
- Develop CI/CD Pipeline library - declarative & scripted for steady state, adoption & support, and enhancements
- Develop modules supporting the libraries that are reusable, multi-lingual, portable to most public clouds
- Add robust monitoring, Alerting, and logging, and automating CICD activities as much as possible
- Bring a software engineering mindset to infrastructure creation and management, while applying the best operational views to ensure security, scalability, and compliance
- Develop policies, standards, guidelines, governance, and related guidance for both CI/CD operations and for work of developers.
- Troubleshoot issues along the CI/CD pipeline and suggest necessary improvements by doing automation or by creating self-service documents
- Contributes to product delivery, influenced by strategic direction across Business Technology and enterprise including investment decisions (i.e. build vs buy) across multiple products. Uses automation, system tools, open source solutions, observability and 'security first' principles in daily work
- Contributes to team agile ceremonies, leads demos and presentations, helps new engineers learn established norms
- Bridges desired Business features to BT capabilities and executes groundwork in requirement translations and design. Initiates detailed level solution design approaches across multiple domains, and guides team to achieve desired key software delivery capabilities using automated, coded enterprise and observability
- Participates in (internal/external) speaking and advocacy events. Coaches core technology communities and is actively engaged in understanding and researching new technologies
- Researches and adopts new technology solutions and ways to build technical capabilities
- Continues professional education and creates opportunities for broader engineering teams to learn industry best practices
- Achieves product commitments (and influences others to do the same) by using informal leadership & highly developed communication skills and contributes to or led technology communities
- Uses automation, system tools, open-source solutions, observability and 'security first' principles in daily work
- Contributes to team agile ceremonies, leads demos and presentations, helps new engineers learn established norms
- Initiates high level solution design approaches, and guides team to achieve desired key software delivery capabilities using automated, coded enterprise and observability
- Participates in internal speaking and advocacy events
- Supports research activities to adopt new technology solutions in ways of developing new capabilities
- Continues professional education and creates opportunities for core product teams to learn engineering best practices
- Coaches immediate chapter and actively fosters the adoption of new technologies
- Bachelors – Computer Science or related
- 3+ Years – (Software) Engineering, DevOps or related
- Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale
- Experience developing and releasing infrastructure as a code with DevOps methodology for automation; working with Docker and Kubernetes to create highly available and scalable CI/CD solutions; utilizing and upgrading tools, including Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus, and SonarQube; and providing technical direction in design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD platform components.

As the CICD Infrastructure Engineer for the Enterprise CI & CD Pipeline team you will drive how Discover uses CI & CD to deliver applications to production in an agile fashion. The CICD Core team task to manage the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Platform Tools and a portfolio of Products used by developers to implement and deliver prioritized features.
