  DESCRIPTION:

  Duties: Design and deploy ICPW (Integrate Compute Platform Wholesale) environment in Lab-as-a-Service to provide effective, resilient Compute network and storage environment to host services, such as Gaia Application Platform (GAP), Gaia Kubernetes Platform (GKP), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and VM as a Service. Work closely with peer teams to deploy ICPW environment using build automation tools and software defined network tools. Deploy and configure VMware Cloud Foundation for ICPW. Design, implement, support, and monitor performance management of Lab-as-a-Service datacenter enterprise VMware vSphere environment. Leverage automation techniques/tools, such as Supercell and VMWare vRealize Automation to automate the buildout of large-scale virtualized environments. Automate infrastructure deployments. Build, configure and deploy VMs and templates. Build, configure and manage Lab-as-a-Service Storage environment. Leverage PowerShell and Shell scripting to automate tasks and processes. Build, patch and deploy virtual and physical VMware, Windows, and Linux server environments. Apply OS patches and system upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Perform day-to-day operational support for server, storage, and virtual infrastructures. Install and configure disaster recovery and backup solutions for datacenter.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Administrator, IT Consultant or related occupation.

  Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Installing and configuring network equipment including Cisco and Juniper; installing and configuring servers including Dell, HP, and Lenovo; installing and configuring storage including DELL EMC, IBM, NetApp and HP 3PAR; VMware Cloud Foundation products, including VRO, NSXT, VSAN, SDDC and VRA; VMWARE products, including ESXi, VCSA, vDS, HA, DRS and vMotion; Scripting in Windows; Scripting in Linux operating systems; Managing Linux, Unix, Windows and VMware environments; Capacity management, resiliency and business continuity planning and execution; Performing planning, design, implementation, deployment, and support functions; Reporting key metrics on data center, network and infrastructure activity; Identifying and executing on opportunities for automation and efficiency in operational activities; Managing components of multiple projects concurrently while adhering to service level objectives; and Agile development methodologies and tools including JIRA, GIT and Bitbucket.
