      Overview

      East Penn is currently seeking a Testing & Equipment Coordinator to ensure the R&D labs meet the current needs of the department in terms of safety, equipment, tools, test capabilities and layout.

      Responsibilities

      Primary Duties and Responsibilities

      Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Ensure the department is adhering to the latest lithium and alternate chemistry guidelines, including documentation, testing, storage, teardown, tracking and disposal
      • Responsible for documentation in terms of procedures, requests and general R&D practices
      • Coordinating power outages, calibration, and upgrades to equipment
      • Test circuit upkeep and utilization
      • Program circuits for all circuit providers
      • Keep lab in clean/working condition
      • Verify all tools and equipment are kept in proper location
      • Coordinate test circuit usage and availability in all R&D labs
      • Stay current on lab circuit technology and make suggestions for equipment upgrades
      • Ensure waterbaths are clean and in working order
      • Assist both basic and applied research initiatives with testing and other activities

      Qualifications

      Experience & Qualifications

      5+ years of Lab experience

      Significant understanding of battery testing techniques including alternate chemistries

      Good attendance record

      Education/Certification

      4-year degree (in engineering or other appropriate degree such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, etc.): or equivalent combination of a 2-year degree (in engineering or other appropriate discipline) and related experience.

      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Strong project management skills
      • Effective oral and written communication skills
      • Ability to work in a team
      • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
      • Enjoy working with computers
      • Strong mechanical skills
      • Literate (Ability to read scientific documents, project reports, specifications)
      • Fundamental understanding of battery testing, teardown and programming
