What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Accurately abstract data into client electronic medical record systems following coding guidelines
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to inpatient accounts as per designated workflow
- Query physicians to clarify conflicting or incomplete clinical information
- Communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues to appropriate personnel
- Maintain required productivity and quality standards with a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must possess an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential
- Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting required
- Recommended minimum of 5 years coding experience overall
- Experience in a Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility is recommended
- Proficiency in ICD-10-PCS coding is required

- Minimum of 2 years of auditing experience preferred
- Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities

- Well-developed written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
