What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct timely prebill review and audit patient medical records for accurate coding
- Analyze clinical data of inpatients to identify gaps in physician documentation
- Report trends for coding and documentation improvement
- Verify coding accuracy through quantitative and qualitative reviews
- Communicate with physicians to validate diagnoses and clinical indicators
What is Required (Qualifications):
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification or equivalent
- College credits in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Three years of coding experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience with computer systems implementation and maintenance
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in clinical documentation improvement or medical coding training
