      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Accurately code inpatient records for the classification of diseases, injuries, procedures, and operations using the ICD10CM/PCS coding system
      - Ensure compliance with coding rules and regulations set by regulatory agencies (CMS, OIG)
      - Collaborate with team members to meet departmental and accounts receivable goals
      - Abstract prescribed data elements from medical records
      - Maintain knowledge of encoder systems and relevant coding policies

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High School diploma or equivalent
      - AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification required
      - Minimum of 2 years of coding experience
      - Knowledge of Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS), DRG/MSDRGs, and National and Local Coverage Determination (NCD and LCD) policies
      - Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred
      - Additional coding certifications such as CCA, CPC, COC, RHIT, or RHIA for specific entities
      - Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with coworkers, management, and physicians
