What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Accurately assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to patient encounters following established guidelines
- Review patients' medical records and collaborate with Resource Management staff to ensure specificity in physician documentation
- Code inpatient records effectively and efficiently
- Form working relationships with colleagues, management, physicians, and other customers
- Utilize PC for chart review, filing, and document proofing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate degree in Health Information Management OR graduate of an approved coding course OR equivalent coding experience
- Five (5) years of medical record coding experience
- Credentialed in Health Information Management as a RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC
- Proficiency in 3M Codefinder, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and CPT Code Books
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience as an Rx Technician or Customer Service Representative in a healthcare-related service
