What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review, analyze, and code all diagnostic and reportable procedures from patient medical records
- Accurately abstract information for compilation of patient database
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, reimbursement policies, and accreditation guidelines
- Support medical research projects and patient care evaluation
- Optimize reimbursement for the organization

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Degree in Medical Record Sciences or relevant certification program
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Administrator (RHIA), or CCS Certified Coding Specialist
- Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding systems
- Minimum of five (5) years inpatient coding experience or two (2) years coding experience at a level one trauma hospital

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in healthcare coding in a hospital setting
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
